Wine tasting notes

Deep and intense in color, its fruity character reminds us of dark cherry, blackberry and plum, revealing an intense work in the vineyard. its complexity and elegance, granted by its 12 month aging in french oak and its long storage in bottle, makes this malbec a great example of our emblem variety

Dec 2016 - Luis Gutierrez - The 2014 Malbec mixes grapes from Agrelo (La Zulema) and Valle de Uco (Don Antonio) and fermented in a traditional way in cement and stainless steel, then matured in French barriques (50% new) for one year. The oak is surprisingly well integrated, and the fruit is in the foreground. It has classical aromas and proportions, nicely balanced, with a polished texture and good definition. All these wines are sleek and polished and with a very nice balance

Bright red-ruby. Perfumed aromas of redcurrant, cherry raspberry, tobacco and mint, lifted by a floral element. Supple and juicy, with redcurrant and cherry fruit flavors complicated by peppery herbs and tobacco leaf. Quite smooth on the palate in spite of its green elements, hinting at its generous 14.5% alcohol. Elegantly styled but lacks the punch for 90 points. Finishes with even tannins.

Issue Nov 15, 2011 - Fresh and focused, with lively crushed plum, blueberry and raspberry fruit that picks up grace notes of mocha and spice on the fine finish. Drink now. 5,074 cases made. ?NW

A beautiful fruity wine with hints of spices, cedar and chocolate. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Refined and polished. Drink now.

There's lovely berry fruit on the nose, palate and finish of this nicely made Malbec. In the mouth, pinching tannins bolster red berry and vanilla flavors. The finish tastes much the same; drink this clean, pure red through 2016.

Tim Atkin (2013)92 pts

A textbook blend of Uco Valley and Luján de Cuyo fruit, this is a hugely drinkable Malbec that builds and builds on the palate. Violet and lavender aromas segue into succulent tannins, fine oak and raspberry, black cherry and blueberry fruit. 2016-21

Vinification Notes

Spontaneous malolactic fermentation in barrels and tanks. 12 months aging in french oak barrels.
