Wine tasting notes

Lightly perfumed, with hints of violet and raspberry on the nose, broadening out into blackberry on the medium to full-bodied palate. It's velvety and open-knit, perhaps just a bit coarsely textured, but mouthwatering on the finish.

Ideally suited to Dessert & Cheese. Can be served chilled, refrigerate after opening to ensure freshness

Expert reviews

Wine Advocate/Robert Parker (2017) - 89 pts

About 20% of the 2017 Shiraz went into French oak for nine months, while the remainder stayed in tank. It's lightly perfumed, with hints of violet and raspberry on the nose, broadening out into blackberry on the medium to full-bodied palate. It's velvety and open-knit, perhaps just a bit coarsely textured, but mouthwatering on the finish.

James Halliday (2017) - 90 pts

Made in the massive 1888 gravity cellar built into a long slope. The wine is elegant and fresh, the tannins fine, the fruit showing no sign of heat. Matured in French oak, seemingly largely used.
