Wine tasting notes

Pale in colour, with a light green hue. The nose displays aromas of tropical fruit and ripe pear, with herbaceous notes and a hint of chalky minerality. The palate is textural and rich with subtle notes of lemon zest and passionfruit. The finish is crisp and dry.

Feb 2015 - Lisa Perrotti-Brown - The 2014 Organic Sauvignon Blanc offers intense notes of gooseberries, freshly squeezed lemons, coriander seeds and grass. Light-bodied with tons of citrus zing in the mouth, it has a lively acid backbone and nice, long, refreshing finish.

Web Only 2016 - Floral, with honeysuckle and lemon verbena notes at the core, and juicy citrus and pear flavors on a medium body. Crisp finish. Drink now.

Pale greenish gold in the glass, this wine smells of gooseberry and lime zest. In the mouth there's a wonderful bright salinity to the wine, and combined with the lime and gooseberry brightness the wine has the distinct character of a salted margarita. Super juicy and yummy.

Michael Cooper (2014)3.5 stars

From Seresin, the 2014 vintage (3.5*) is an organically-certified wine, fermented with indigenous yeasts and bottled unfined. Medium to full-bodied, it is ripely scented, with good depth of fresh tropical-fruit flavours, a hint of spice, and an appetisingly crisp, dry (3.8 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish.

A delicately expressed sauvignon, this is taut and racy with grapefruit, lemon peel, dill and flinty characters. The palate is linear and restrained with lovely focus and a lingering crisp finish. It is beautifully understated rather than intense and punchy. At its best: now to 2017.

Wine of the Week - This kiwi savvy is herbal and refreshing with lots of mouth-watering, lime zest acidity for a range of dishes. There's some lemon zest on the finish. Intense, vibrant and clean. Mouth-watering acidity weaves its way through fresh aromas of grapefruit and guava. Bring it, especially for movie night with fried chicken!

Vinification Notes

The MOMO Sauvignon Blanc is made from fruit grown in vineyards located on the plains of the Wairau Valley of Marlborough. The Sauvignon was picked between April 6 and April 21, in the late evening and early morning, to ensure the fruit was cool when it reached the winery. After fermentation at a low temperature to retain fruit character, the wine was allowed time sitting on yeast lees to give greater palate depth and complexity.
