Product Notes

Tedeschi Maternigo Valpolicella DOC Superiore is a sophisticated Italian wine grown in the verdant hills of Valpolicella. This highly prized red boasts an earthy profile, encompassing rich notes of cherry, smoky tobacco and warm spices. It's medium-bodied with a lingering finish, accentuated by soft tannins. Having aged for 16 months in Slavonian oak barrels, the wine demonstrates a good balance between acidity and alcohol content. This Valpolicella radiates a deep ruby colour, indicative of its concentrated flavour. Ideal for pairing with red meats, mature cheeses, or on its own for the discerning palate, it's a remarkably expressive example of Veneto viniculture.

Tasting Notes

Bouquet: very pronounced fruit. Notes of redcurrants, cherries and plums that give freshness to the wine and meld with mineral, ethereal, spicy and vanilla-like hints. Flavor: rich, fresh and well-balanced fruit. The concentration of the dry extract is notable and admirably set off by considerable tannic structure, very lively acidity and a level of alcohol that ensure good ageing potential. The retro-olfactory sensations echo those on the nose. This is a long, fresh, concentrated and very elegant wine.
