Wine tasting notes

Purpled-colored, the nose offers up pain grillé, mineral, plums and black cherry notes with a touch of black pepper. The palate is soft, soupy and round, with ripe, saturated berry flavors. Finishes spicy and full, with chewy tannins and ample.

Clean and fruit-driven, it has notes of plums, cherries and something floral. The palate is juicy and approachable making for a very good commercial Malbec.

Vinous/Antonio Galloni (2013)87 pts

Medium bright ruby. Blackberry and licorice on the nose. Juicy, nicely delineated black fruit flavors show a youthfully inky quality without coming across as hard. On the contrary, this wine is pliant and sweet and its tannins are ripe. An excellent value. -- Stephen Tanzer

A brooding red, filled with notes of dried beef that accent the fig paste, plum tart and black olive flavors. Lingers with tar and dark chocolate hints on the finish.

James Suckling (2015)90 pts

A straightforward malbec with dark fruits and terra-cotta character on the nose. On the palate this is balanced and fruity; follows through to a clean finish. No nonsense malbec. Drink now.

Best Buy - Reedy green-leaning aromas of plum and raspberry feed into a creamy palate. This tastes primarily of herbal red-berry fruits that finish oaky, dry and spicy.
