Turkey Flat’s history goes back to 1847 when Johann Frederick August Fiedler, a Silesian refugee planted fertile soils next to Bethany Creek in Barossa Valley. In 1865, this property was taken over by the Schulz family. They retained the name, Turkey Flat that is believed to be given to these vineyards by the original owners. All Turkey Flat wines are made using individual vineyard fruit. Shiraz, Mourvedre, Grenache, Rousanne and Viognier come from their famous Section One vineyard which is right in the centre of Barossa Valley while their Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the vineyard near Bethany Creek. All these wines boast of great quality and elegance no matter what vintage.
