The nose behind this magnificent wine is Luca Currado of Vietti. Currado is one of the most highly respected winemakers in Italy, and his touch is evident in this special wine. Nicolas Catena Zapata is a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, and it shows Currado's deft hand with these varietals. The result is a wine that is packed with flavor, yet still exhibits an elegant balance.
Food matching
Am unique twist on one of the best grape partnerships of all time – Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot – this Argentinean version of the classic Bordeaux blend loves robust preparations such as stews or game or red meat-based casseroles and pies, and is also a good choice for steak or hamburgers. Vegetarians can try it with eggplant-based dishes and roast root vegetables, and it can accompany any number of cheeses (though is not so great with blue cheese). Avoid spice, salt and cream.
