Wine tasting notes

Deep in colour, with aromas of roasted peppers, sweet spice and black fruits. Ripe and rich on the palate, with good concentration of flavour and the elegant structure any serious Cabernet Franc should possess.

May 12. By Josh Raynolds. Opaque ruby. Aromas of cassis, dried cherry, smoky herbs and licorice, plus a subtle floral topnote. Juicy and broad on entry, then tighter in the middle, offering intense dark berry preserve flavors and a hint of bitter chocolate. Closes spicy and long, with lingering smokiness, gentle tannins and very good snap.

Published : 20 Sep 2010. Sagrada Familia. Fresh and sappy. Racy and well balanced and a fair varietal rendition. Quite dry on the finish but good with food, I should imagine. Light and delicate. When to drink : 2010 to 2014.

Vinification Notes

Fermentation in stainless steel tanks. During fermentation the must was pumped over the skin cap 3 times a day. Post-fermentation maceration on skins, before pressing. The wine was aged for 12 months in French (100%) oak barrels of which 35% were new barrels.
