The 2010 Chardonnay Classic Series saw 50% of the wine fermented in American oak and the rest in stainless steel after which all of the wine was aged for 6 months in French oak. Aromas of poached pear, apple, and baking spices set the stage for a medium-bodied, toasty wine with ample fruit and excellent varietal character. This moderately lengthy Chardonnay is a very good value meant for drinking over the next 1-2 years.Aurelio Montes has a well-earned reputation as one of Chile?s foremost vignerons. The Montes wines offer great value at the lower end of the spectrum and set the bar for what can be achieved in Chile at the higher end.
