Wine tasting notes

An intense and lively pungent Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of capsicum, lime, grapefruit and hints of asparagus. The palate is wonderfully textured and minerally with bracing acidity and excellent concentration.

Wine Advocate # 213. June 2014. Reviewer : Luis Gutierrez - The 2013 Outer Limits Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from Aconcagua Valley from the coastal and northern zone of Zapallar, seven kilometers from the sea, which provides freshness. It?s a powerful wine, with pungent aromas extracted from the skin for some seven months contact, with a mineral feeling, akin to a Sancerre, serious and austere, with gooseberries, tomato leaves, ending again mineral and saline. This is a superb Sauvignon Blanc. The vines were planted in 2006 and the first harvest bottled was 2011. Experiment with iodine-rich seafood, like sea urchin. Uhhhmmm! Drink now-2017.

Web Only 2012 - A well-cut and intense white, with racy lemon, lime leaf and pulpy grapefruit notes backed by spirited acidity and a long, savory finish

A tangy yet ripe sauvignon with sliced apple and light asparagus. Full-bodied, fresh and clean.

Light yellow. Intense citrus and orchard fruit aromas are complemented by ginger, beeswax and chalky minerals. Taut and focused on entry, then fleshier in the mid-palate, offering juicy orange and pear flavors and a touch of anise. Finishes clean, nervy and long, with resonating spiciness and a subtle herbal quality. -- Josh Raynolds

This is a perfectly nice Sauvignon Blanc from stand-alone vineyards in Zapallar. The nose features a varietal aroma of white pepper and a piquant hint of green. The acid-driven palate bears lime, tangerine and bell pepper flavors. — M.S. (12/1/2012)

Grassy great!! Want lawnmower satisfaction ... cut the lawn without cutting the lawn. Love it!

Vinification Notes

Grapes were cold soaked for 12 hours to extract aromas and then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for two weeks. The wine was kept in contact with its lees to give it some roundness on the palate.
