Composed of selected sites in the Stellenbosch region ?from prime parcels on the Helderberg Mountain and in Devon Valley. These sites offer excellent mineral soils, South, South-eastern & South-western exposures and healthy, mature vines, all of which combine cozily with maritime cool ocean breezes to bestow on these vineyards a spectacular and ideal environment. Each of the vineyards is highly specialised, and each small enough to afford Vinum great focus. The yields range between 40 and 48 hl / hectare, depending on the specific vines and the vintage. We now make between 3 and 7,000 cases of each wine per annum, depending on vintage conditions (having kicked-off in 1999 with 1 000 cases all-in). Since 2008, when numerous new vineyard plantings came on-stream, we have experienced a significant quality enhancement of our Cabernet fruit. We have also commenced the process of replanting Chenin blanc in some of the amazing vineyard sites on the Helderberg where they had been pulled-up in the 1990?s and 2000?s.
