Taylors shiraz has been delivering good value for yonks. The front label comes with a great number of gold and silver medals but interestingly, none of these medals are from the (generally, but still fatally flawed) more rigorous Australian wine show ‘system’. It would be fascinating to know exactly how many wine shows, all around the world, this wine has been entered into. The medals come from Spain, China, USA and the UK.
This continues the run of decent form. You wouldn’t say that it over delivers but it does serve up a satisfying amount of plummy, mint-inflected flavour, and it does so in soft/smooth fashion. It’s simple but it’s effective. Floral notes, and sweet redcurrant, help build a pretty-enough picture.
