B Vintners
B Vinters is a joint venture, founded in 2014 by two wine-making cousins, Gavin Bruwer Slabbert and Bruwer Raats of Raats Family Wines. They are based in Stellenbosch in the picturesque Cape Winelands of South Africa. The two B's take an avant garde approach and do not own any of their own vineyards. Instead they source grapes from unique vineyard parcels to produce terroir specific wines that highlight the maximum expression of the grape variety. The vineyards they use are all high-altitude and close to the ocean planted on weathered soils. They employ a minimal intervention and organic perspective towards winemaking, and use historic grape varieties. The cumulative results are award-winning wines with a sense of place, which they say “blends a bit of the past and present to bring you a taste of the future”.
