Carrick

Carrick was founded in 1994 by Steve Green and Barbara Robertson-Green in Bannockburn, a sub-region of Central Otago's Cromwell Basin on the South Island of New Zealand. The name derives from an old gold-mining town and the mountain range which the vineyards overlook. The climate here is semi-continental and the soils are alluvial glacial, resulting in linear wines with a firm tannin profile and pure acidity. The vineyards have been farmed organically since 2008 and are certified organic through Biogro, and certified sustainable through Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand. Their wines are made from estate-grown hand-picked fruit and wild fermented with minimal intervention. Carrick was bought by Tony and Alison Cleland in January 2021, and so a new chapter begins...............
