Cellier des Princes
Cellier des Princes have been producing Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône region of southeastern France since 1925, and many of the founding members were instrumental in the creation of France's first AOC in 1926 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape. They are the only cooperative in the iconic Châteauneuf-du-Pape area, and presently have 240 winegrowers spread throughout the southern Rhône Valley working more than 750 hectares of vineyards. Agronomists work in close collaboration with the growers to guarantee quality from entry to top level wines. They are Châteauneuf-du-Pape specialists and have vineyards in all of the five AOC villages of the appellation planted on a variety of soils: the characteristic galets roulés of the region give concentration, dry sandy rocks give body and spice, limestone gives structure, and siliceous soils give character. However, they are able to produce a wide portfolio, and also offer Côte du Rhône, Villages, IGP Vaucluse, Vacqueyras, Gigondas and varietal wines. The majority of their output are red wines, but some whites are included in the range. Since 2017 the revered oenologist Phillipe Cambie has been the wine consultant for Cellier des Princes and has received the perfect score of 100/100 no less than 15 times from Robert Parker!
