Wine tasting notes

This Saint-Joseph with a deep garnet red colour and ruby glints has a fruity flavour. Cherry and raspberry flavours blend to give an excellent taste, where tannins are present but silky.

Expert reviews

Vinous/Antonio Galloni (2014) - 91 pts

Mar 2016 - Brilliant ruby. A perfumed bouquet evokes dark berry and cherry liqueur, and notes of smoky minerals, licorice and fresh flowers add complexity. Deep and sweet but lively, offering pliant dark berry and cola flavors and a touch of spicecake. Picks up a floral pastille note and becomes brighter with air, then finishes sweet and long, offering gentle tannic grip and repeating spiciness. -- Josh Raynolds

JancisRobinson.com (2014) - 16.5 pts

Tasted Nov 2015 - Dense and chewy on the palate, with dark, compact black fruit. Some fragrance, though the dense fruit wins through in terms of dominant force. (RH)

James Suckling (2014) - 92 pts

Attractive florals, bright red fruits, gentle spices and slightly sappy notes all feature on the nose. There's freshness and complexity aplenty here. The palate is beautifully defined and has a core of succulent red-plum-fruit flavors elegantly framed in long, noble and ripe tannins. Great balance. A benchmark for St. Jo. Drink now and for up to a decade.
