Wine tasting notes

This bright, racy Bourgogne is drawn from three parcels; one-third comes from some old vines in the Hautes Côtes, one-third from vines in Maranges (villages level) and one-third from Bourgogne proper, from a parcel on the edge of Puligny-Montrachet (same plot that gifts the Bourgogne Blanc). It's an opportune marriage with the Puligny vines bringing perfume, the Maragnes bringing generosity of the fruit, and the Haute Côtes the structure and perfume. It is aged in barrels, of which around 20% were new. Meaty and sappy, it shows crunchy redcurrant, black cherry and anise like fruit, fine structure and a focused, lip-smacking finish. Very fresh and 'Hautes Côtes' in style - this offers plenty of bang for your buck.
