Domaine Maillard Pere et Fils

Daniel Maillard's family have been winegrowers in Burgundy since 1766 and in 1952 he founded his own domaine in Chorey-lès-Beaune in the Côte d'Or. Today Daniel's two sons, Alain in the vineyard and Pascal in the cellar, operate the estate. They represent the 10th generation of winegrowers and ensure the continuation of the family domaine. 19 hectares are under vine with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir [and some Aligoté for their Bourgogne Aligoté] in some of the most prestigious vineyards in Burgundy: Corton, Aloxe-Corton, Pommard, Beaune, Ladoix, Chorey-lès-Beaune, Meursault and Volnay. Vinification is traditional and ageing takes place in oak barrels 25 to 80% new. The wines are bottled between 12 and 15 months, usually without filtration. These are exceptionally well-rounded and juicy fruit-forward wines, which age beautifully.
