The story of Elysian Springs began on the foundations laid by one of Australia's most iconic wineries – Seppelts, who planted Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines there in the 1980's. They were one of the first wineries to plant Burgundian varieties in South Australia. When Seppelts was sold in the 1990's, the Elysian Springs site continued to evolve. This boutique 200 acre estate is located in Mt Pleasant, just north of the Adelaide Hills region of South Australia, and is now under the stewardship of Brad Rey and Greg Wandless. The vineyards are farmed sustainably with organic and biodynamic techniques, and are acknowledged as some of the best sites for red and white wine production in Australia. Their Marley Farm label sources grapes from farmers that exhibit the best harmony between region and variety. The Elysian Fields were a beautiful meadow in the Underworld, a paradise where the favourites of Zeus could enjoy perfect happiness - these wines, with a true sense of place, bring you a little closer to heaven!
