Product Notes

A truly outstanding offering, Jim Barry The McRae Wood Shiraz wine exhibits a distinct personality. This Australian wine boasts an opulent, full-bodied character, robust with tints of dark fruits and spices. Intense flavours of blackberry and plum collide with notes of mocha, vanilla and earthy undertones, yielding a beguiling complexity. Hints of fine-grained oak can be discerned, neatly folded into a lush, velvety finish. With a seamless texture and a harmonious balance between concentrated fruit elements and adeptly integrated tannins, this wine proves to be a triumph of both style and substance. Suitable for ageing, but utterly irresistible now.

Tasting Notes

Lifted aromas of blackberry, blueberry briary fruits and perfumed violets are complemented by a lick of toasty vanillin oak. The palate is restrained in its youth, but delivers depth and concentration with dark forest-fruits, rich fruitcake and a streak of earthy goodness. A wine of fantastic drive and complexity, the delicate grained tannins enhance the lengthy finish.
