Wine tasting notes
The product of a dry vintage whose extreme effects were moderated by the wisdom of extremely old vines. Tasting from barrel in July revealed a panoply of flavours running from spiced pears and banana to struck-match and crystallised lemon. There was also toast, stony minerality, pumpkin seed and some fine-grained extract, crème brulee, almond and fresh conference pear all bound up in a silky, complex and rich, yet focused package that very much defies its appellation. One of a kind.
