Parducci Wine Cellars was founded in 1932 and as such is the oldest winery in operation in Mendocino, Northern California today. Owned by the Thornhill Family, Parducci are deeply committed to sustainable wine growing practises and were the first US winery to become ?carbon neutral?, are 100% powered by ?green? energy sources and are leading proponents of water conservation and recycling. Currently Parducci farms 340 acres, of which 140 are fully biodynamically certified, 40 are in transition to biodynamic practices, 60 are organic and 80 are in transition to become organic.The current winemaker at Parducci, Bob Swain, has a huge variety of grape varieties at his disposal in the Parducci vineyards. In terms of red grapes, there are Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir and Merlot (to name just a few) in the Parducci vineyards, with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat amongst the whites. A Parducci ros? is made from a blend of Zinfandel and Grenache and a port-style desert wine is also made at Parducci.
