Cantina Santadi was founded in 1960, when a group of local growers in the Sulcis region of south-western Sardinia got together to form a cooperative, which produced and sold bulk wine until the 1970's. Then everything changed. The company came under the control of Antonello Pilloni, who is still the chairman today. International consultant and wine expert Giacomo Tachis was brought on board and the whole operation was streamlined with the aim of producing quality bottled wines from premium fruit. They safeguard their heritage by focusing on native grape varieties, the red Carignano (their flagship varietal), Cannonau and Monica, and the white Vermentino, Nuragus and Nasco. Santadi combine age-old tradition with state-of-the-art technology to craft fascinating reds and stylish whites. These wines have a strong identity; they offer something a little bit different - a unique taste of Sardinia.
