Wine tasting notes
The Old Winery Chardonnay is a modern take on a traditional Chardonnay style. We picked the grapes a little earlier than usual to capture varietal freshness offering crisp, mouth-watering natural acidity, then matured it on yeast lees to add a little extra texture and complexity. It spent a relatively short time in French oak to maintain that wonderful freshness. The result is an easy-drinking, medium-bodied wine that offers aromas of stone fruit with a subtle hint of vanilla from the oak influence. The palate is generously flavoured with peach and citrus, rounded off with a clean, crisp finish.
