Viu Manent

Viu Manent is a family-owned Chilean winery that was founded in 1935 when Catalan immigrant Miguel Viu Garcia and his two sons, Agustin and Miguel Viu Manent, founded Bodegas Viu in Santiago de Chile. The winery began by marketing wines purchased from other suppliers and bottled under its own brand name. More than thirty years later, in 1966, Miguel Viu Manent realized his dream of producing his own wines by acquiring the old Hacienda San Carlos de Cunaco vineyards and winery in the heart of the Colchagua Valley winegrowing region.

The winery has been in the hands of the Viu family every since, and today the third generations, led by owner-director Jose Miguel Viu Bottini.Viu Manent owns 260 hectares of vineyards in Chile's renowned Colchagua Valley appellation, including the San Carlos estate in the sub-appellation of Santa Cruz, and the La Capilla and El Olivar estates, both in the sub-appellation of Peralillo.

The winemaking philosophy of Viu Manent centers on the unceasing search for quality and identity in its wines.
