Wine tasting notes

Intense ruby colour. Complex and elegant nose, with red berries and notes of vanilla and tobacco. In the mouth the wine is medium-full bodied with ripe dark fruit flavours and a hint of oaky spice.

Wine Advocate #203. Oct 2012. Reviewer : Neal Martin. You cannot go wrong with the $10.00 2011 Intimo. A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 10% Malbec, it offers clean, ripe raspberry and cranberry fruit on the nose. The palate is rounded on the entry with plush, supple tannins. There is a lot of richness here, but it is all perfectly controlled and the espresso-tinged finish is smooth and sensual. A good wine for the price. Drink now.

Vinification Notes

Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 48-72 hours, followed by alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature (25 - 27 C) in 9,000 litre concrete vats, for a 15 day period, with periodical use of rack and return. The next step is the malolactic fermentation and later ageing of 10% of the volume in American and French oak casks for 12 months, followed by bottling and further bottle ageing for 10 months before its release.
