Wine tasting notes

Our Warrelwind Sauvignon Blanc is a palate pleasing wine: harmonious and wellbalanced showing typical green herbaceous flavours as well as richer tropical notes.Pale straw in colour with a light green tinge, it has a lively bouquet of tropical fruit with herbaceous, green apple and green pepper notes. On the palate, bright tropical fruit flavours of passion fruit and pineapple are complemented by crisp, well integrated acidity. The wine has a rich, full structure with a rounded and creamy mouthfeel.

MAN Family Wines

M?A?N Family Wines began in 2001 when three friends got together with the aim of making wine that they?d love to buy - quality wine with smart packaging, but at price they could afford.Next they needed a name that would unite their three families, but particularly appeal to their wives after they?d unsuccessfully convinced them that their winemaking venture was a sacrifice rather than a lot of fun. Expert Reviews

Wine Advocate/Robert Parker (2016)87 pts

The 2016 Padstal Chardonnay sees 20% fermented in American oak with three months lees aging. It has a simple but balanced bouquet with light wild honey aromas. The palate is fresh on the entry with grapefruit and pineapple notes, the acidity well judged with just at touch of viscosity on the finish. Enjoy this well-made and keenly priced Chardonnay over 3-4 years.

Vinous/Antonio Galloni (2014)86 pts

Pale lemon-yellow color. Fresh nectarine, lime and pungent brown spices on the nose. Juicy and just off-dry, with lovely intensity and lift to the apple, spice and floral flavors. Very subtle use of oak. Lovely chardonnay for eleven bucks. -- Stephen Tanzer

A bright, floral-edged style, with a mix of white peach, yellow apple and honeysuckle notes. A light zip of fennel adds energy to the finish. Drink now through 2019

Vinification Notes

The richest and fullest white wine in the MAN range, we've won fans with the very delicate oak flavours that are complemented by prominent fruit flavours and butterscotch notes. After a great deal of experimentation, we found the perfect balance by fermenting 10-20% of the wine in small American oak barrels, and keeping the rest of the wine on the lees for up to six months. Complex yet elegant, we're very proud of this grown-up Chardonnay.
