White grape variety traditionally known for being a component of Falernian, which is a famous wine from the Roman times grown in Northern Campania. Roughly 300 ha are planted in Campania where today it provides the majority of the blend for the DOC wines Falerno del Massico and Sannio. It is also known as Falanghina Greco, and it makes a distinctive, aromatic wine that pairs well with fish and seafood.
