Wine tasting notes

This superb Malbec has a deep violet colour and offers concentrated aromas of black cherries and chocolate notes. The rich blackberry and black currant fruit flavours are rounded off perfectly by soft, supple tannins.

Wine Advocate #203 Oct 2012 - Neal Martin The 2010 Reserva Malbec sees nine months in new and used French and American oak. It has a pleasant floral bouquet with cassis and a touch of crushed violets. The palate has sinewy black fruit and a rather muddled commercial finish, but it offers a satisfying mouthful of Malbec for easy-drinking pleasure. Drink now.

Bright, dark red, Pure, slightly floral scents of blackberry, black cherry and licorice; much less peppery than the classic Malbec. A moderately dense midweight with dark berry and spice flavors accented by a floral note. Finishes firm and bright, with decent tannic spine and savory persistence.

Argento has found its calling with this wine, by far the best to date from this label. It’s deep and pure, with raisin, blackberry, spice and vanilla on the nose. Super solid and lush, with layered flavors of jammy berry, coffee and chocolate. Holds all its form on the finish; excellent vino for the dollar. — M.S. (5/1/2011)
