Food Matching

A subtle, enticing wine, you can savour this on its own, though it also stands up well to deep, earthy autumnal flavours. Master Sommelier Vincent Gasnier, in his book How to Choose Wine, suggests matching it with fillet of venison or a casserole of girolle mushrooms. Michel Roux recommends duck foie gras with confit turnips.

Wine tasting notes

Beaune is an elegant wine, developing red and black fruit aromas. It has a mellow texture with very elegant tannins which will help it to age well.

Tasted Oct 2013 - Pale crimson. Light and correct. So Beaune! So refreshing. Wonderful purity and Beaune character. Light tannins underneath but effortlessly correct. Already fun but should improve. Very clean and appetising.

Vinification Notes

The wine is fermented in open vats (without stem) in order to extract colour, tannins and aromas. Then it is aged in wooden barrels for an average of 18 months. The blending will be done at the very end.
