Wine tasting notes

The Chateau Ste. Michelle Dry Riesling is a dry, refreshing style of Riesling with beautiful fruit flavors, crisp acidity and an elegant finish. It offers inviting sweet citrus aromas and flavors. This is an incredibly versatile food wine and my favorite with oysters.

Very pale yellow. Reticent hints of peach syrup, lemon, white pepper, menthol and brown spices. The distinctly pliant palate offers good texture and lemony intensity, with a light sweetness supported by harmonious acidity. Hints of brown spices add appeal. Not a complex Riesling but very easy to drink owing to its fruit intensity and freshness.

Soft and delicately sweet, with easygoing peach and lemon sorbet notes

Labeled dry, this nonetheless carries a hint of sweetness, at 70 g/L residual sugar. It’s fruity and fresh, with melon, citrus and peach prominent. A perfect summer sipping wine. — P.G. (9/1/2013)

Ste. Michelle, one of the world’s largest Riesling producers, offers one of the best $9 white wines made in the USA. This one has a lemony aroma and flavors of juicy apple. It’s a simple, mouthwatering wine to serve chilled on summer afternoons.

Vinification Notes

Riesling grapes were picked under cool nighttime skies to preserve the variety’s bright, juicy style and retain all the natural acidity.. Cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks preserves the freshness and bright fruit qualities of this wine.
