Roditis

One of the most common varieties of the Greek vineyard, widely known for its white wines produced, including retsina. However, the most common shade that have the grapes is a pink color, which requires a specific way of vinification to give the white wines we are used to. Mostly gives simple, everyday wines, with medium intensity fruity characters, but it has been observed that when the grapes are grown at high altitudes, may yield a remarkable aromatic complexity with aromas such as pineapple and melon, white flowers, citrus, apple and banana to overwhelm the nose. The wines from Roditis have usually quite good acidity, quite good volume, oil in the mouth, and with interesting abilities of short aging.
