Wine tasting notes

Pureté is the exact same blend as Expression with another year’s ageing. There is no dosage added, so this makes for a beautifully tense and steely champagne with brilliant salty minerality supporting the fruity character. Clean, precise, taut, young full of nervy tension, this is an oyster-ready style driven by crunchy acidity and lemon peel which will no doubt soften with charm with a few years in bottle. A real connoisseur’s champagne.

Wine Advocate/Robert Parker (NV)92 pts

June 2016 - Based on 2010 and 2009, this NV Brut Nature Pureté blends 50% Meunier with 40% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay. Disgorged in November 2015 with no dosage, this cuvée opens with a bright, clear and ripe white fruit aroma with a nice intensity. It's a Champagne of great freshness and finesse, indeed very pure and with a nice grip in the finish. Absolutely delicious and based on a good ripeness of fruit. Refreshing aperitif.

Jan 2015 - Light yellow-gold. Ripe pear, pineapple and floral scents pick up hints of anise and honey with air. Fleshy and smooth in texture, offering pliant tropical and orchard fruit flavors braced by a stony element. Tightens up on the incisive finish, leaving a refreshingly bitter citrus zest note behind. -- Josh Raynolds (NV)16.5 pts

May 2015 - Very pale. Very fruity and bumptious. Masses of personality. Neat, dry finish.

Oct 2014 - A firm and chalky Champagne, with open-knit and accessible flavors of ripe raspberry, honeysuckle, biscuit and dried apricot. Offers a fresh finish of moderate length.

Oct 2016 - Based on 2009 and 2010, this is essentially a Cuvée Expression with additional time in the cellar with no dosage. The richer style of Cumiéres fruit handles it very well. It shows a neat floral edge with dried pink fruits and flowers as well as delicate pastries and a little spiciness. The palate has superb depth and focus and is still very fresh. The acidity is definitely a feature, carrying this super dry, long and exhilarating! Drink now.
