Expert reviews

James Suckling (2019) - 92 pts

Attractive, modern style with toasty oak, plenty of spice and light flinty reduction, across bright red cherries and plums. The palate has a very succulent, open and easygoing feel with bright, fresh and supple tannins. Drink now. Screw cap.

Decanter (2019) - 90 pts

From actor Sam Neill's Central Otago winery – his grandfather Sidney is the chap in the cap on the label. This is a blend of organic Pinot grapes from the Alexandra, Gibbston and Bannockburn sub-regions, all hand-harvested. Time in old French barrels lends a subtle spiciness to the raspberry and cherry fruit on both nose and palate, which has a tension and freshnes, with approachable tannins. Very drinkable - Julie Sheppard
