Product Notes

C.V.N.E Imperial Gran Reserva wine is a sterling illustration of Spanish viniculture. Produced in the famed Rioja region, it is a sublime blend, primarily composed of Tempranillo, with Mazuelo and Graciano. Matured meticulously for 36 months in oak barrels, it exhibits a rich crimson hue and seductive scent of dark cherries, spices, and vanilla with a scatter of cedar notes. On the palate, the elegance of its smooth texture and exquisite balance of acidity and fruitiness stands out. This full-bodied wine showcases an impeccable finish, making it an ideal accompaniment to hearty meats and mature cheeses.

Tasting Notes

The perfect balance of fruits of the forest and licorice stand out along with aromas from pine, cigar leaf and sweet spices. The palate is marked by soft tannins and a long elegant finish

About the Winery

C.V.N.E

C.V.N.E, Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, is a family-owned winery situated in the Rioja Alavesa region of Spain. This historic winery, renowned in Spain and globally, is an enduring legacy of the Real de Asúa family. Founded in 1879 by Eusebio and Raimundo Real de Asúa, the C.V.N.E winery has, for over a century, produced wines that have captivated the palates of even the most discerning wine enthusiasts.

The winery is composed of four individual wineries: Cune, Imperial, Viña Real, and Contino, each with its unique story and distinct method of wine production. Cune is the initial and the most recognised, with its workings based in Haro. Imperial, on the other hand, pays homage to the flagship wine produced at the turn of the 20th century. Viña Real, nestled on the Cerro de la Mesa, is renowned for its individualised, single vineyard wines. Contino, the last of the four wineries, specialises in Reserva and Gran Reserva, showcasing the potential of its single vineyards.

The wineries maintain a perfect symbiosis of tradition and modernity- from the exceptional and innovative winemaking facilities to their adoption of traditional wine-making processes. Apart from wine production, C.V.N.E is also famed for its distinctive and avant-garde architectural designs. The Viña Real facility, an impressive barrel designed by Bordeaux-based architect Philippe Mazières, stands as a testament to the winery's enduring love for quality and detail.

With a rich historical presence and a portfolio spanning a diverse range, C.V.N.E has affirmed a position of prestige in global viniculture. Whether you are a novice or an aficionado, C.V.N.E offers an immersive wine experience like no other. Showcasing some of the finest grapes in the Rioja region it’s sumptuous array ensures a delightful exploration into the world of Spanish wines.
