Tasting Note

This Austrian Sauvignon Blanc is cool and lively with aromas of white pears and asparagus followed by lemon balm and lemon verbena. The palate is vibrant and complex with an excitingly persistent finish.

Product Notes

Sattlerhof Gamlitz Sauvignon Blanc is a distinguished Austrian white wine hailing from Styria. This top-tier wine proffers an exquisite balance of aromatic freshness, robust acidity and indulgent fruit. It introduces itself with an alluring bouquet of citrus, ripe gooseberry and notes of fresh-cut grass. The palate echoes these, matched with expressive minerality and a hint of tropical fruit. A delightful lingering finish completes the experience. Its invigorating profile amplifies the most delicate of seafood dishes. Sumptuous and subtly complex, Sattlerhof Gamlitz Sauvignon Blanc continues to impress both novice drinkers and seasoned connoisseurs.

About the Winery

Wilhelm and Maria Sattler own 35 hectares of vineyards in the Austrian village of Gamlitz, near the Slovenian border. The Sattler family have made wine at their farm since 1887, and, in the 1960s, were among the first in the region to bottle high-quality, dry white wines under their own name. Today, the family business has passed to Willi and Maria’s sons, Alexander and Andreas. While their parents still take a keen interest in the estate, Alexander is now responsible for managing the vineyards, while Andreas heads up the winemaking. The vineyards are farmed using organic and biodynamic principles, and from the 2021 vintage, all the estate wines are Respekt-certified.
