Product Notes

Weingut Sepp & Maria Muster's Opok white wine is an exceptionally crafted Austrian wine originating from Styria. This organic wine, meticulously produced with a blend of traditional regional grapes including Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Morillon, offers aromatic subtleties of stone fruit and lemon zest balanced by a creamy body and crisp acidity. Its distinctive mineral-rich palate, derived from the opok-rich soil, gives it an uncompromising freshness. Aged in oak barrels, the wine displays an enchanting straw yellow colour with a hint of green, leaving a long, pleasurable finish. Highly versatile, it is perfect for pairing with a broad spectrum of culinary dishes.

Tasting Notes

The Opok is a blend of Muster's four white grapes. Opok refers to the particularities of the soil in this part of Styria which is compact and marly. This wine is not so much aromatic as mineral with sea-shell purity. It fills the mouth whilst retaining a stoniness and just a hint of reductive smokiness.
