About the Winery

Thymiopoulos

Established amidst the picturesque vineyards of Trilofos and Fytia, in the heart of Macedonia, Thymiopoulos winery is a world-renowned family-run establishment. These townships, sat at the foot of Mount Vermio in Northern Greece, engrain a unique terroir that brings out the unrivalled quality of their wines.

Apostolos Thymiopoulos, the young, passionate proprietor with phenomenal knowledge of viticulture and oenology, took up the reins in 2005. He is considered a pioneer in cultivation of the indigenous Xinomavro grape variety. Thymiopoulos has made a name for its inimitable ability to elicit the most flavour from these grapes resulting in an astonishing array of wines; each echoing the biodiversity of their vineyards.

Steadfast in marrying tradition and modern winemaking practices, this winery believes in biodynamic farming. Their vineyards are separated into different parcels, each having their own character contributing to the winery's distinct offerings. From fragrant rosés to heady, full-bodied reds, Thymiopolous' range of offerings has time and time again amazed wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts.

Appreciated worldwide, their wines are a testament to the purity and authenticity of Greek viticulture. Xinomavro variety, with its rich tannic structure and high acidity, is capable of producing wine that gracefully ages and acquires complexity over time.

This stunningly secluded winery also welcomes visitors for tastings; a one-of-a-kind experience amidst the breathtaking vine-wrapped terroir. Here, wine lovers can indulge in the elegant freshness of Naoussa Nouveau, or savour the dense, earthy whispers of the Earth and Sky.

All in all Thymiopoulos winery is an ode to Greek winemaking heritage, a perfect blend of age-old traditions modern innovations and passion for viticulture; it's the embodiment of Greek wine at its finest.
