Product Notes

Aurelio Settimo Dolcetto d'Alba is a charming Italian wine renowned for its eloquent expression of refreshingly light and fruity flavours. Its tantalising deep ruby red colour holds enticing aromas of ripe black cherries and plums, harmoniously interlaced with subtle notes of spice. Medium-bodied, this wine, made from 100% Dolcetto grapes, is loved for its soft tannins and balancing acidity that beautifully enhance the vibrant fruitiness. The delightful lingering finish is smooth and satisfyingly dry. An excellent companion for flavourful meat dishes and strong cheeses, it represents the quintessential Italian charm and sophistication. An absolute pleasure for any wine enthusiast.

Tasting Notes

This intense ruby red wine has a fresh nose showing clear-cut notes of cherry, strawberry and red fruit. On the mouth it is appealing, with the classic hints of cherry and almond on the finish.

About the Winery

Aurelio Settimo

Aurelio Settimo is nestled in the rolling hills of Piedmont, Italy acclaimed for its stunning vineyards and exceptional wines. This family-owned winery offers an intimate peek into the production of world-class Barolo wines.

Founded in the early 1940s by hIs father, Domenico, Aurelio Settimo took over the twenty-three acres vineyard in 1962 naming it after himself. The winery cultivates a pure varietal, Nebbiolo, an element essential in structuring Barolo wines. A striking feature of the Nebbiolo grape, is its sheer adaptability to the Langa terrain’s alternation between calcareous marls and blue marls, resulting in wines of exceptional quality.

Their vineyard management goes hand in hand with respect, for this irreplaceable terroir. Year in and year out, they encourage low yields to emphasise quality over quantity. Their cultivation practices respect the environment, and the work done in the vineyards is entirely manual with great attention to detail.

Despite facing a number of challenges, from the loss of her brother to changing climates, Tiziana Settimo, Aurelio's daughter, is singlehandedly upholding the family legacy. Her unwavering dedication and commitment to the craft shine through in each bottle produced.

A testament to their success, Aurelio Settimo wines are marked out by their rich structure, beauty and elegant aromas. Perhaps the star of the selection is the Rocche dell’Annunziata, noted for its complexity and tannic robustness. It pairs flawlessly with robust meat dishes and full-bodied cheeses.

Over the decades, the Aurelio Settimo winery, has forged a reputation for its commitment to tradition, excellence. It is not just a winery, but a destination for any wine lover seeking an authentic taste of Italy's Piedmont region. They have perfectly encapsulated the essence of their land in every sip, crafting an unforgettable wine experience for connoisseurs worldwide.
