Product Notes

Chateau Thivin Côte de Brouilly Clos Bertrand wine is a quintessentially elegant French Beaujolais wine. Hailing from the heart of the Côte de Brouilly hills, it boasts a vibrant ruby hue and complex, flavoursome bouquet. Revel in its enticing notes of wild strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrant, and subtle suggestions of minerality. A sip unveils a harmonious balance of ripe fruit, soft tannins, and crisp acidity. Aged seven months in large, old wooden vats, it has fantastic texture and a lingering finish. This wine embodies the sophisticated simplicity of its vineyard, offering the epitome of French viticulture finesse.

Tasting Notes

Garnet red, bluish reflection, nose of iris, peonies, cherries, rounded mouth of black fruits, spices, long and silky finish. This ample wine is ideally tasted between its 2 and 7 years and depending on vintage up to 10 years.

About the Winery

Chateau Thivin

Nestled in the idyllic landscape of the Beaujolais region in France, Chateau Thivin winery stands as a quintessentially French charm that racks up numerous adulations. This storied estate harks back to 1383, cementing its place in history, and setting a cornerstone in the world of wine making.

Surrounded by a blend of old-world allure and agricultural grandeur; the Chateau Thivin exudes an aura of distinctiveness that perfectly characterises the wines crafted within its stone walls. Each bottle captures the unique essence of its terroir, and tells a tale old as time, celebrating the rich legacy of French wine culture.

Chateau Thivin's vineyards scale the slopes of Mont Brouilly, an imposing extinct volcano whose gritty granite soils are a boon for wine cultivation. The chateau itself is an impressive, old-style structure with its sloping tiled roofs, providing a picture-postcard facet to its stunning natural backdrop!

The winery's forte remains the production of vibrant, fruity Gamay wines, packed with lush, red berry characteristics and prepossessing floral notes. Their Côte de Brouilly is particularly renowned; an embodiment of gamay’s capacity for grace, balance and deep complexity.

Chateau Thivin's assiduous focus on sustainable farming methods further elevates their stature. Implementing low-intervention techniques, owners Claude and Evelyne Geoffray juxtapose tradition with innovation whilst respecting the environment and maintaining the authentic character of their wines.

Expect nothing less than wine soaked in historical gravitas, elegance and beautiful artistry from Chateau Thivin's. Almost as evocative as the wine itself, visiting Chateu Thivin makes the oenophiles journey even more enriching. From the gentle sway of the vineyards to the sun-dappled stone buildings and barrels whispering secrets of centuries, it is an experience that will delight you in exploration whilst savouring a delectable glass of wine.

Profoundly interwoven with elements of history, the winery is testimony to the enduring allure of French winemaking - an art form in its own right; every sip paying homage to the tradition and terrior of Brouilly.
