Product Notes
The Wiston Estate Library Collection Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut is a beautifully crafted British wine. Harvested from old vine Pinot Noir in South Downs, Sussex, it exhibits finesse and complexity. Marvellous, deep flavours display appealing fruitiness, rich brioche, and elegant minerality. Its delightful acidity is perfectly balanced with creamy mousse, resulting in an impressive extra brut finish. The wine’s ageing in oak barrels imparts depth and sophistication, while its delicate bubbles enhance its luxurious texture. This exceptional wine, maturing wonderfully in the bottle, takes English sparkling wine to a distinctive level and is indeed a testament to high-quality English viticulture.
Tasting Notes
The fruit from the 2014 harvest was of exceptional quality and the resulting wine has evolved into an excellent example of Blanc de Noir, abundant with complex character and intensity of flavour. Aromas of lemon cake and macadamia nut deliver an inviting a sense of opulence. A round and weighty texture on the palate, abound with notes of rhubarb, dried orange and greengage. Further finesse shows through on the long finish, with hints of Himalayan pink salt and electric freshness, a subtle note of sweetness of Braeburn apple. Undeniable potential to age further.
