Bright, ruby red in colour with youthful violet lights. On the nose, the wine is fresh and aromatic, with perfumes of tart red berries with a hint of spice. On the palate, it is unoaked, young and vibrant, with rich, ripe red fruits and liquorice on the finish.

Wine Advocate # 216. Dec 2014 Reviewer : Robert Parker. The 2012 Crozes Hermitage les Jalets is a medium to full-bodied, easy-drinking Syrah that has classic tapenade, currant, earth and toasted spice on the nose. It has solid ripeness, good concentration and enough substance to evolve nicely through 2022.The revamped Jaboulet firm, under the leadership of Caroline Frey, seems to have settled in and are now producing one serious lineup of wines from throughout the Rhone Valley.

Deep ruby. Smoke-accented black and blue fruits on the powerfully scented nose and palate. Round and fleshy, showing a hint of cracked pepper and a bitter cherry quality on the back half. Finishes spicy and incisive, with very good clarity and smooth tannins. -- Josh Raynolds

Vinification Notes
