About the Winery

Quinta do Vesúvio

Quinta do Vesúvio winery, situated in Douro Valley, Portugal, is treasured for its premium range of Port wines. The estate was established in the 19th century by António Bernardo Ferreira, though today, it is held under the ownership of the Symington family.

For over four generations, the winemaking techniques and traditions of Quinta do Vesuvio have been passed down the Symington lineage. Similar to traditional Port wine estates, Quinta do Vesuvio insists on foot-treading the grapes to maintain their quality standards. Handpicking every vine, and using traditional granite presses, the process is arduous in contrast to modern mechanised methods but has a significant impact ton the wines' complexity.

Apart from delivering an impressive range of premium ports the winemakers at Quinta do Vesúvio reach beyond tradition with their bold and expressive, unfiltered wines which have bagged numerous acknowledgements world over maintaining their decades-long legacy while setting new standards in port production.
