About the Winery

Clos Culombu

Situated in the heart of the beautiful island of Corsica, Clos Culombu is a renowned winery that caputures the essence of the Mediterranean sun. Nestled between the sea and the mountains in the micro-region, Lumio, and owned by the Suzzoni family, this winery is an epitome of passion and dedication to viticulture.

The Suzzoni family, particularly Paul Suzzoni, took over in 1973, since then, the vineyard gradually expanded and currently comprises 70 hectares of vigorously tended land. Each wine is a masterful blend of indigenous grapes, cultivated using environmentally-friendly practices while respecting the traditions and natural characteristics of the terroir.

Clos Culombu focuses on the cultivation and production of a wide range of red, rosé and white wines, each boasting unique tastes and aromas. Their emblematic wines include Nielluccio, Sciaccarello, and Vermentino – be it the rich, fruity versatile red, the crisp, refreshing rosé or the exotic, medium-bodied white; each drop is sure to indulge the senses.

The winery has been buzzing with activity since the late 80s as a pioneer and advocator of top-quality Corsican wines that have garnered worldwide recognition. Despite their extraordinary achievements. They also take immense pride in their innovative approach, demonstrated by their recent venture into organic farming.

With Clos Culombu, it’s not all about the end product. The winemaker’s journey – the meticulous process of cultivating, harvesting, and crafting their fine wines – creates a captivating narrative that adds to the richness and depth of the tasting experience. Visitors fall in love with the lush, peaceful ambiance of the vineyard and enjoy an unforgettable exploration of Corsica’s exquisite wine treasures.

Bringing each bottle from Clos Culombu is like bringing home a piece of Corsica accented with the robust taste of tradition, an invigorating dash of innovation, and the tender love of generations. This winery is indeed an unmissable destination for every wine enthusiast exploring the heart of Europe.
