Product Notes

Le Vieux Pin Winery Petit Rouge comprises a robust, splendid blend of Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Possessing a deep, rich ruby colour, its bouquet offers a delightful barrage of dark fruit notes, pepper, and earthy tones. On the palate, this wine dazzles with flavours of ripe blackberries, pepper spice, and subtle oak undertones, paving the way for a long sensual finish. Expertly cultivated in the sunny vineyards of British Columbia, Canada, it elegantly exhibits a balanced acidity and harmonious tannins, making it an exquisite experience for wine drinkers that appreciate depth and complexity. Truly, a world-class wine.

Tasting Notes

This year’s blend consists mostly of Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon thanks to a gorgeously classic summer growing season with a balanced crop. Cabernet Sauvignon, albeit in a smaller percentage as part of the blend, still makes its presence known on both the nose and the palate with that unique herbacious, spicy, black currant note. The palate is lively and harmonious and a great balance of fruit, tannin and acid make this wine quite versatile and very food friendly.

About the Winery

Le Vieux Pin Winery

Set amidst the mesmerising vistas of British Columbia's picturesque wine country, Le Vieux Pin Winery is an enchanting oasis of viticulture excellence, steeped in time-worn traditions and a sophisticated aura that melds the glory of the old world with the vitality of the new.

Le Vieux Pin Winery basks in Canadian aloofness. It sits nestled on the acclaimed Black Sage Bench, Oliver, a small town regarded as the wine capital of Canada. Emblematic of its French name which translates to 'The Old Pine', the winery's ethos is firmly rooted in respect for time-honoured winemaking methods, yet daringly innovative in its wine varietals.

Amidst rows of meticulously tended vines, a multitude of grapes flourish under ample sunshine and arid conditions, drawing deeply on the mineral-rich soils to imbue each varietal with a unique depth and character. Chief amongst these are the Merlot, Cabernet Franc and the illustrious Syrah; each bearing testament to the winery's commitment to quality over quantity.

The winery's architecture itself is an ode to authenticity, boasting a demure and elegant design philosophy. Visitors are ushered into an intimate tasting room, where the sheer poetic beauty and complexity of Le Vieux Pin’s vintage offerings are unraveled through the palate-pleasing magic of their sommeliers.

With a firm commitment to sustainability, Le Vieux Pin Winery maintains an ecological balance in their vineyards; preserving soil integrity, ensuring biodiversity, and contributing positively to the local community.

In terms of viniculture, France is often credited as the indisputable master, However the craftsmanship, passion, and sophistication distilled in every glass at Le Vieux Pin Winery quietly asserts that Canada, too, holds a firm place in the world of exquisite wines. Here; at this splendid winery, the taste of age-old tradition is beautifully entwined with the vivacious thrill of innovative new world wine-making. It is no wonder then, that Le Vieux Pin Winery truly deserves its laudatory reputation.
