Product Notes

Pride Mountain Vineyards Napa/Sonoma Merlot is an exceptional Californian wine, showcasing a complex array of rich, enchanting flavours. Each sip unfurls a symphony of ripe plums, deep black cherry, and subtle oak, embedded with hints of dark chocolate and velvety milk. This full-bodied Merlot offers a perfectly balanced structure and a polished, enduring finish. Maturing in American and French oak barrels contributes an earthy undertone and infuses an appealing smokiness. This wine possesses an enticing rich ruby colour, mirroring its intense, deep character. This Merlot is a testament to the winery's extraordinary viticulture and winemaking prowess. A perfect toast for exquisite gatherings.

Tasting Notes

The incredible quality of the 2018 vintage is on full display in our Estate Merlot. The wine is sensationally dense with ripe plum, boysenberry, and blackberry that leap out of the glass and coat the palate. The smooth, rich fruit is complemented by milk chocolate, fresh tobacco, sandalwood, black licorice, violet, and mocha. The choreography of how the voluptuous fruit wraps around the volcanic minerality while merging with the velvety tannins makes for an intriguing ballet in the mouth that simply leaves you wanting more. Decant for one hour to let this beautiful peacock strut its stuff!

About the Winery

Pride Mountain Vineyards

Pride Mountain Vineyards, sparking in the sun-drenched Californian hills, offers a dream experience for wine connoisseurs. Nestled on the slopes of Spring Mountain, which straddles Napa and Sonoma Valleys, this family-owned winery combines vineyard tradition with modern innovation.

Founded more than two decades ago by the Pride family, the vineyard has grown remarkably since its inception. Today, it sprawls across 235 acres, 83 of which are devoted to producing exquisite varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay, amongst other cherished wines

The winery rests 610 metres above sea level; its unique position on the mountain providing the vineyards with an unparalleled maritime climate. This, in conjunction with uncompromised nurturance and the fertile mountain soil, yields a rich harvest of grapes distinguished by their distinct flavours and complexity.

As for the winemaking process, Pride Mountain Vineyards practises sustainable farming whilst integrating modern wine production techniques. The result is a spectacular array of wines, deeply rooted in terroir and baring inimitable qualities of taste and texture.

Visitors are heartily welcomed to tour the vineyard, providing a personal insight into the labour of love that goes into each bottle. Wine tastings in the elegant tasting room or in the vineyard's atmospheric caves are popular pastimes. Here, wine enthusiasts can savour the delightful fusion of the old and new world that gives Pride Mountain Vineyards its distinctive flavour.

However, it's not just the wine that captures hearts - it's also the astonishing views. From the peak of Pride Mountain, California's verdant landscape stretches in all directions – a sight as intoxicating as the wine it produces.

Decked in allure and armed with an array of spectacular wines, Pride Mountain Vineyards invites you on a wine journey that transcends the senses. There is no question that a visit to this winery is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for any wine lover?
