Product Notes

Chateau Latour-Martillac Blanc is an exquisite white wine originating from the Pessac-Léognan region in France. Its mesmerising colour ranges from vibrant straw yellow to golden hues. Boasting an aromatic, complex nose of citrus, exotic fruits, and delicate oak, this wine unfolds a vibrant palette of flavours. Upon tasting, expect a refreshing medley of pear, lemon and vanilla, subtly enhanced by oak undertones. This full-bodied vintage brings a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes that showcase a harmonious balance between acidity and fruitiness. The finish is as impressive as the start, long and intense, encapsulating the essence of French winemaking.

Tasting Notes

The 2016 Latour-Martillac is pale yellow color with sparkling highlights and has complex aromas of both floral (verbena, honeysuckle) and some exotic fruits (passion fruit) and lemon. The palate is beautifully fresh and is balanced by a delicious creaminess. In the mouth, there is elegance with the same complex, fruity aromas of white peach and ripe apricots as well as the floral note of verbena and fresh mint. This wine is remarkably long length on the finish. This is good for drinking over the next 8-10 years and is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon.

About the Winery

Chateau Latour-Martillac

The Château Latour-Martillac winery sits majestically in the heart of Bordeaux wine country. Nestled amongst picturesque vineyards, the stunning property is resplendent with history and grand allure. A family-run winery for more than a hundred years, and it is renowned for its exceptional wines that are a testament to their passion for winemaking.

Set in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Latour-Martillac is named after the historic Martillac tower, situated in the château's courtyard. Elegantly weathered by the passage of time, this tower symbolises the winery's embracing of its traditional past and its consistent striving for innovation.

As a classified growth of the Graves region, their vintages consist of subtle notes of the terroir fused magnificently with the individual flavours of each grape variety. The sublime reds, mostly a combination of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, are well-structured, with good concentration and an aromatic complexity that is distinct to Château Latour-Martillac.

In addition to its splendid reds, the château is also known for it's whites. Composed mostly of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, their whites carry a harmonious balance of freshness and richness. The careful selection of grapes, stringent quality measures, and their dedication to respecting the land, ensures that each bottle of Château Latour-Martillac wine carries the unique essence of their terroir.

Visitors to the estate are welcomed with scenic charm and a glimpse into the winemaking process, whether that’s strolling through the vineyards, exploring the ageing cellars or indulging in a tastefully curated wine-tasting session. It is an opportunity to immerse oneself in the beauty of the French countryside, while understanding the significance and excellence of Château Latour-Martillac's winemaking heritage.

After all, Château Latour-Martillac is not just a winery, it is an experience. A true embodiment of French elegance and craftsmanship, a place where tradition meets innovation to produce exponentially delightful wines.
