Product Notes

Tablas Creek Vineyard's Esprit de Tablas Blanc is a plush, captivating white blend, truly the epitome of elegance. This Californian wine has an enticing bouquet of honeysuckle, green apple, and dried herbs. On the palate, it manifests complex flavours of pears, apricots and almonds, balanced by a zesty minerality. With its creamy texture and lingering finish, the wine exhibits a harmonious dance between richness and crispness. Impeccably crafted, the Esprit de Tablas Blanc exudes old world refinement whilst retaining the vibrant, opulent essence of the new world. A bewitching wine to savour, it creates quite an extraordinary tasting experience.

Tasting Notes

A spicy, deep Roussanne nose of wildflower honey, cedar spice, jasmine, and Asian pear. The mouth shows flavors of baked pear, cinnamon stick, and brioche, all deepened by a little sweet oak. The wine's rich texture is balanced by nice acids and a saline mineral note on the finish. A powerful Esprit Blanc that we expect to go out two decades, gaining additional nuttiness and complexity over the years.

About the Winery

Tablas Creek Vineyard

Located in the heart of Paso Robles, a region in the Central Coast of California, stands the remarkable Tablas Creek Vineyard winery. This historic winery is situated amid the rolling hills and verdant valleys of the state, offering an idyllic backdrop for the cultivation of its treasured grapevines.

Tablas Creek Vineyard is renowned for its dedication to quality and sustainability. As a certified organic and biodynamic vineyard, it has championed green and responsible practices in winemaking from the onset. The winery's adherence to traditional European vine cultivating techniques is a testament to its commitment to producing wines that express the authenticity and character of their terroir.

At the heart of the vineyard is the wizardry of winemaking. The winery’s process is impeccable, marrying traditional and innovative wine production methods to ensure the preservation of the multi-dimensional aromas and flavours of the grapes. The winery is famed for its Rhône-style blends both red and white, made from grape varieties like Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Roussanne.

Moreover, the vineyard itself is a sight to behold. Sprawling vines stretch out over 120 acres, kissed by the generous Californian sun and cooled by the maritime breezes. This intrinsic balance of climate and geography played a crucial role in influencing winery founders Robert Haas, and Jean-Pierre and François Perrin to select this land in the 1980s.

Distinctly committed to preserving the land's biodiversity, Tablas Creek Vineyard maintains a thriving grazing programme, using sheep and alpaca to naturally fertilise its vineyards. Goats and donkeys, meanwhile, help control the overgrowth of weeds in the vineyard.

Whilst visiting Tablas Creek Vineyard. Visitors have the opportunity to sample their exquisite wines, meander through the aromatic cellars and partake in vineyard tours to witness firsthand the meticulous care invested into the cultivation of each grape cluster. Combining the allure of its scenic beauty with a glass of superbly crafted wine, a trip to Tablas Creek Vineyard promises an experience that's both sensory and unforgettable.
