Tasting Note

Intense purple-red colour and expressive aromas of fresh cherries, plums, and dark berries, lifted by floral violet notes and subtle hints of vanilla and spice from oak. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with juicy fruit, lively acidity, and smooth, well-integrated tannins that make it both structured and approachable. A touch of minerality adds freshness, leading into a clean, lingering finish where red fruit and gentle oak spice remain in balance.

About the Winery

Baron Edmond de Rothschild - Flechas de los Andes

Nestled in the heart of craggy mountains, the Baron Edmond de Rothschild - Flechas de los Andes winery is a riveting sight. It is a collaboration between top Argentine Establishment and the fabled Rothschild name; symbolising the pursuit of excellence in winemaking.

In 1999, Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Laurent Dassault made a pledge to find a piece of land in South America where exceptional, high-quality wine could be made. Their ambition and passion reaped rewards when they discovered the Flechas de los Andes estate, right amidst the foot of the Andes mountains in Argentina.

Millions of years ago, this terroir was under the sea, today it's a wine-growing paradise: rich in minerals, basking in scorching sun in the day, followed by cool nights which is crucial for maintaining acidic balance in the grapes. The yield of grapes per vine is managed with scientific precision to ensure the utmost quality and character in every bottle.

Specialising in red wines, particularly Malbec, Flechas de los Andes combine the art of French tradition with the spirit of Argentina. The strong and fruity character, oprulent tannins, and profuse flavours provides a truly delectable bouquet for wine connoisseurs.

The winery houses a breath-taking cellar, with high-tech facilities for fermenting and ageing wines. With respect to the environment, the winery employs root fertilisation and organic farming techniques, avoiding usage of pesticides and artificial fertilisers.

From the exquisite wine to the dramatic backdrop of the Andes, Baron Edmond de Rothschild - Flechas de los Andes winery perfectly encompasses the passion and heritage of the Rothschild family's dedication to wine-making. It is a beacon for oenophiles, travellers, and those in search of an extraordinary adventure in the world of wines.
