Product Notes

The Bodega Aleanna Gran Enemigo Single Vineyard Gualtallary Wine is an exquisitely produced Argentinian wine. It is a sublime blend of Cabernet Franc and Malbec, offering a rich, deep ruby hue and a tantalising complexity of flavours. Distinguished tasting notes include ripe black fruits, leather, and delicate hints of floral and spice nuances. Aging in French oak barrels results in gracefully melded, subtle tannins with rich, silky smoothness. The wine's intense depth, structured body and long lingering finish epitomises Gualtallary's unique terroir. An ideal choice for discerning palates and impeccable for special occasions, it truly echoes elegance, intensity and class.

Tasting Notes

El Gran Enemigo SV Gualtallary shows a deep purple color with red highlights. Its aromas are intense and elegant. Cabernet Franc brings sweet spices, black pepper and light notes of eucalyptus and thyme. Malbec brings notes of ripe black fruits, blackberries and black cherries. The oak aging gives a touch of chocolate and vanilla to blend. The taste is complex, sweet impact with structured tannins, and a very long and persistent finish. This wine was made in honor of the old Pomerol style where Cabernet Franc was blended with the other Bordeaux varieties.

About the Winery

Bodega Aleanna

Situated in the heart of Argentina's esteemed wine country, Mendoza, Bodega Aleanna is an undisputed gem amongst wine connoisseurs. The winery, established in 2007 by enologist Alejandra Arizu and historian Adrianna Catena, has quickly become renowned for its rich and graceful vintages that boast a compelling sense of character and finesse.

Perched at striking altitudes in the Uco Valley, Bodega Aleanna benefits from an extraordinary terroir. From the complex soils rich in limestone, gravel and clay, to the beneficent climate. The winery's vineyards experience a generous warmth during the day which gently subsides as the cool Andean nights set in. This climactic interplay contributes to a longer ripening period for the grapes which in turn, imbues the wines with an arresting array of aromatics and a sublime balance.

The wines of Bodega Aleanna are an exquisite testament to careful vineyard management and dexterous winemaking. Each bottle isc a perfect harmony of fruit intensity and elegant structure—a truly remarkable triumph that has gained worldwide attention. In fact, the winery's flagship wine, Gran Enemigo, has even received the illustrious Wine Advocate’s highest score for an Argentinian wine.

Bodega Aleanna combines innovative techniques with traditional winemaking methods to create their impressive portfolio. From enlisting the aid of horses to plough the vineyards, to fermenting the grapes in concrete eggs, the winery finds unique ways to allow nature to ultimately shape their wines.

Most notably however, it's the indelible vision and passion of its founders that truly set Bodega Aleanna apart. Their shared dream of producing vintage wines of extraordinary quality has transcended boundaries and presented Argentina's unique varietals in a global arena. With its reputation for excellence and an unyielding dedication to craftsmanship, Bodega Aleanna undoubtedly promises a wine experience that's as unforgettable as it is rewarding.
